CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional

Overview

International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium or (ISC)2 provides two levels of certification: CISSP, for information systems security professionals; and SSCP, for information systems security practitioners.

Who's It For?

The CISSP credential is ideal for mid- and senior-level managers who are working toward or have already attained positions as CISOs, CSOs or Senior Security Engineers.

Prerequisites

Students should have some experience with Information Security concepts and practices. To earn the CISSP® certification, four years of full-time experience in information security or three years plus a B.S. degree is required.  After 10/1/2007, this requirment will be changed to five years of full-time experience.
